"So where's that next version?!? ;)"
GRAPHICS? Smooth as glass (more important for gameplay) yet still pretty.
INTERACTIVITY? Imaginative and balanced game mechanics, my aged reflexes aside. :) The 'adult filter' is a BRILLIANT idea to; I like hentai, but it's nice to be given the choice. :D
VIOLENCE? It's a little gory, but hey - we're talking long slashy bits of metal being swung at people; it's not gratuitious :)
HUMOR? I didn't really hit any, but considering the story, it's not really necessary (or even desired).
STYLE? Well the gameplay is nice (see above) but the *story*? The plot itself is interesting, but the writing style is about the only weakness. I know you're calling it "Ronin" rather than 'samurai', but nonetheless it's....well, a little jarring; it's not "1337 pwns j00" but still. :S
Which brings me to the biggest strength of the game: SOUND. This is *wonderful*! It's a nice break from Korn et alles and really suits the genre beautifully. The wife even stopped what she was doing to come listen! :D
Thanks for this, and if you're thinking on making another, do so! :)

Nice, simple, not-too-long (some of us are supposed to be working, you know ;) )
The music and graphics (and the underlying 'FedEx' game mechanic) harken back to the NES days :)
The humor was mostly lost on me as I am not party to the whole 'Days of Our Newgrounds' soap-opera, but I *did* chuckle a few times.
All in all, well worth the time I spent playing it. :)
(Oh and have fun & cya in august, then :D )

To be honest, I doubt theres any one person (aside from me) that gets every reference and joke in this thing. Its full of obscure references to games, flash and flash artists (mostly the ones that are my friends!)

Interesting concept, and fairly well executed...with one notable exception.
Hiding necessary items out of view, thus forcing the player to walk over EVERY inch of turf just to complete the game...that _whacked_ your 'Interactivity' score.
The 'OMGFTW pwns j00' drivel ruins your 'Style' and 'Humor' (some people like it, some don't; my invited opinion is the latter, so *shrug*)
And the 'punishment' for getting a question wrong was gratiuitiously, repulsively graphic and confoundingly complex (Rube Goldberg, anyone?), so that actually brings DOWN your 'Violence' score. :(
All in all, almost worth playing. If you'd placed the keys in *meaningful* locations, I might've suggested this game to others (and given you a much better score)

Well done; the game was a little *easy* to win and simplistic (see below for why) - I woulda kept tally of $$$ and allowed raising and folding, and once Michelle runs out she sells a piece of clothing.
But sadly, even though the quality was GOOD, and the setup was nicely done (I was laughing a lot from it :), it's naught more than an ad for someone's 'poker school' website. Ergo, it's GOING to be simple (to spread virally more easily since it loads faster) and it's GOING to be easy to win (to allow you to get to the plug for the website). Thus it's with a heavy heart that I blam this. sigh :(
Maybe NG should create a new category "coolest ads" or something; this is the second such 'submission' that just tries to slip around having to pay for promotion in as many days...

I mean, two years later, and I'm coming back to the simplicity of play - the pics are secondary. It's almost elegant the way it's set up.
A wonderful little time-waster (kinda coarse for my tastes but the quality of the game itself more than makes up for my personal 'squick' over the content :) ) - thanks Weisi, and I hope you're doing well and thinking on blessing us with something more soon!

Okay...I'm *trying* to find something nice to say...um, the sound quality was quite clear. And the load time was quite short...
But sadly, that's all I can say in a positive manner. The artwork was crudely done, and not of a 'retro/minimalist' style that at all assisted in conveying the 'important message'. The animation was jerky and erratic. The subtitles were beyond overt to the extent of being distracting. But these are just technical quibbles.
The one big thing I have an issue with is the poor flow; the complete LACK of pacing in this clip. It was the audio-visual equivalent of a page-long run-on sentence. (Did you take a pause to BREATHE while recording this? ;) But seriously, it was VERY hard to follow and almost insulting to the viewer to run that many different topics past so quickly.
All in all, it was okay in some respects, but a very...'unfinished' way of trying to get your 'important message' across. (Oh, and what WAS that message, I think I blinked at some point...)

...but the target audience for this 'tribute' game are now so old as to have reflexes so degraded that the game is well-nigh unplayable to them. :P
I like the setting, graphics, and even the music is repetitive in a way that doesn't annoy me (which worries me ;) but I simply cannot respond with sufficient haste to go more than a few minutes - haven't even SEEN the end of any stage. And the previous reviewer's opinion on memorization doesn't help: I've repeated enough to KNOW what's coming, but my hands still will not react quickly enough.
All in all, a good game that needs a MAJOR tweak for those worn-out old warhorses of us who have left their 'twitch-wristed' teens in the past...

Well, I rebut the previous reviewer - so it's 'old' (by their definition) but so what? A good song is a good song...unless you happen to be 10 years old and are easily distracted.
The video is not nearly as bad as others make it out to be, but it's not really impressive either; any violence is fully appropos of the song's content, and it DOES have an appealing song it's based on. :)
Overall, I think it's okay, but nothing to emaul to my friends about.

Yep; really reminds one of a FF or similar console RPG. Nice, simple timewaster. :)
I LIKE the art - very nicely done!
The sound wasn't annoying enough to make me turn it off.
As for the difficulty, (and all the whiners who are *never* satisfied) when it comes right down to it, it's better to be too easy than too hard - at least with a free offering such as this; I think you made the right choice so ignore the detractors. (If they want hard-core RPG elements like stats, branching storylines and varying difficulty settings, they can pay you! :)
Very well done - I look forward to seeing more of this :D
